US Trail Running Conference Empowers Race Directors with Website Strategies

Industry expert shares key steps to revolutionize how runner’s find races

The US Trail Running Conference’s RD Master Class webinar series, presented by Marathon Printing, Inc., empowered race directors on April 29 with the latest strategies for building impactful websites during their RD Master Class webinar series. Industry expert Doug Larson from Sage Marketing Group led the session, titled Mastering Creating a Stunning Website.

Doug Larson shared actionable insights designed to revolutionize how runners discover races. Attendees learned cutting-edge strategies for creating compelling websites that can drive event growth. Larson provided a comprehensive overview of race websites, covering website fundamentals, essential elements of effective race websites, and popular content management systems like WordPress and Shopify. He also shed light on third-party race platforms such as UltraSignup and RunSignup.

The engaging Q&A session addressed audience inquiries about alternative website platforms like Squarespace, the critical importance of website loading speed, and vital strategies for safeguarding website files and content from cyber threats.

The RD Master Class webinar series is available for all race directors and event organizers to access, and is held in partnership with the American Trail Running Association. Active at Altitude, organizers of the US Trail Running Conference and the RD Master Class webinar series, reported 50 participants registered for the session representing 21 states, as well as Canada, Vietnam and the Azores.

The next webinar in the RD Master Class series presented by Marathon Printing is titled: Mastering Volunteer Recruitment & Management Using Latest Technology, and takes place on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. MST. The expert presenters for this session are Mandy Mullen from Miles Beyond, and Rob Goyen from UltraSignup.
