US Trail Running Conference announces 2022 webinar series

Organizers of the US Trail Running 
Conference, Active at Altitude, announces their 2022 webinar series  featuring monthly presentations on key subject areas that are critical for race directors and event organizers to produce and manage successful, viable, and sustainable events. The first webinar in the series will be held Thursday, February 3, and the final installment will be presented July 21. The 2022 USTRC Webinar Series is presented by Marathon Printing, the Oregon based family-owned company that specializes in producing custom printed items for endurance sports.

The USTRC webinar series was introduced in 2021, and positive feedback from race directors and event organizers exceeded expectations. Each session recorded an average of more than 100 registrants, with a 40% live attendance rate, and a 65% attendance rate when factoring in session recording views.  Average engagement time was 55 minutes, and 60% of participants said the webinars empowered changes to future plans for their races.

The webinar series provides an ongoing education content for race directors, building on the reputation that the Conference has developed for providing high-quality content, networking and actionable best practices to help race directors and event organizers grow and develop successful trail races. Each webinar is presented by industry leaders in their respective fields, and will offer information that can boost a race director’s knowledge and afford insight into innovative practices to 
implement at their events. Each participant will receive a checklist document for each webinar that will detail key actionable items, while there will be an opportunity to follow up on deliverables in-person at the 2022 US Trail Running Conference to be held October 19-22, in Mukilteo, 
Washington.

The first webinar in the series highlights how to analyze and produce carbon neutral races, and takes place at 11.00 am MST on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Presenters include Claire Lafave, a Client Manager at Native, a carbon offset provider, Porter Bratten, Owner at Orca Running, Shelley Villalobos, Executive Director, Council for Responsible Sport, and Terry Chiplin, Event Director, US Trail Running Conference. This first session is also sponsored by Native. Future webinars in the series will feature diversity and inclusion, safety for women on the trails, marketing and communication, race logistics, race safety and best practices, and starting out, a webinar for new or budding race directors.  

The webinar series is held in partnership with the American Trail Running Association. Registration opens January 19, 2022, and is free for all race directors, event organizers, trail runners, and fans of the sport. Registration options are available for the complete webinar series, or an individual session. Registrants will receive details to access each webinar, with session recordings being available the next day for each webinar for registrants unable to make the live session time.
