US Trail Running Conference announces US Launch of Kilian Jornet’s charter for outdoor sports

Top mountain and trail runner will participate in 2 virtual presentations at event in Fayetteville, AR

Active at Altitude, organizers of the US Trail Running Conference has announced that the 2020 event will feature the US launch of a charter for outdoor sports from top mountain and trail runner, Kilian Jornet.

The Spanish mountain and trail runner will present information on his ground breaking charter in 2 separate sessions at the Conference, participating virtually from Norway in the event that is held October 21-24 in Fayetteville, AR.

The project is a platform with the goal to promote a more sustainable practice for
outdoor sports, focusing on the impact of its different stakeholders. These goals target specifically the pollution generated through outdoor sports, the greenhouse gases
emitted, better management of natural resources, preserving land and biodiversity, and advocating for a more sustainable society. The charter is a product of years of
developing a deep love for mountain and wilderness environments that Jornet has
accumulated along with his work with the Kilian Jornet Foundation.

Kilian Jornet comments: “I’m very pleased to share this project with the US trail running community, which I know has a deep connection with environmentalism and
preservation and I think it can help our sport to evolve towards a more sustainable
practice and lead other sports to do the same. ”

Event Director for the US Trail Running Conference, Terry Chiplin said, “We are very excited to be chosen as the US launch for Jornet’s Charter announcement. Kilian is a top level mountain and trail athlete that has a world wide following, and we are looking forward to hearing him share his visions and goals for the project with our audience of race directors and trail runners. The Charter is a natural fit with our theme for this year of climate action and sustainability, and we look forward to watching the organic growth of this project and the template it provides to help our sport take responsible steps across events, brands, athletes, and federations that will help preserve our priceless
environment.”

The eighth annual US Trail Running Conference is held October 21-24, 2020, in
