US Trail Running Conference Announces Charles Brown as Outreach Director

New position created to increase attendance for 2022 edition of industry-leading event

Active at Altitude, organizers of the US Trail Running Conference, has announced that Charles Brown has been appointed as Outreach Director. This new role has been created to grow attendance for the 2022 event that takes place in Mukilteo, WA, October 19-22. Charles will be responsible for personal outreach to both previous participant race directors as well as potential new participants, and encourage them to register for the tenth iteration of the Conference.

After many years as a long-distance road cyclist, Charles transitioned to an avid trail runner since getting exposed to his first trail race in 2015. He has completed various races up to the 50k distance. In 2017, his first full year of trail running, he was an Xterra regional age-group champion and completed the 2017 Xterra Trail Run National Championship Race in Ogden, UT. Charles has also been the subject and contributing writer of two blogs by Territory Run Co. Charles enjoys learning about trail and ultra-marathoning history, motivating the “50 and over” crowd (or anyone who’ll listen) to engage in fitness activities, especially outdoors and serves as a Black Men Run Trail Running Ambassador and is a member of the Baltimore Road Runners Club.

Terry Chiplin, Event Director for the US Trail Running Conference, comments, “I am very excited to welcome Charles to this new role within USTRC. I am looking forward to working with him to develop an expanded event in 2022 that will set new standards for attendance for this must attend event for trail race directors.”

The US Trail Running Conference provides education, inspiration, and unique networking opportunities for trail race directors, trail runners, brands and fans of the sport.
