US Trail Running Conference Announces ATRA Better Together Scholarship Recipients

Ten race directors to receive support to attend industry-leading event

The US Trail Running Conference has announced the ten recipients for the ATRA (American Trail Running Association) Better Together Scholarships, each hailing from a different state.

The scholarships provide ten new or aspiring race directors or event organizers funding to cover their travel and accommodation expenses up to a maximum of $1500 per recipient to attend the US Trail Running Conference. Registration costs for these race directors will be covered by the Conference organizers.

US Trail Running Conference director Terry Chiplin said, “The response to the scholarship offer was overwhelming, and it was an exciting challenge to select the ten worthy recipients. We eagerly look forward to the opportunity to work with these ten race directors or event organizers at the Conference to give them the tools and connections to start or grow their business. We are very grateful to ATRA for their generous donation that has made this possible.”

Nancy Hobbs, ATRA executive director said, “Our board enthusiastically supported the creation of the 2024 Better Together scholarships. This is just one way ATRA can make a difference in our sport by offering opportunities for growth and engagement in the race directing community. We look forward to welcoming this diverse group to Knoxville in October.”
