The US Trail Running Conference has announced that FIFTY the movie will be the feature presentation for the Trail Running Film Festival during the 2016 Conference.
The showing will be the Colorado premiere of FIFTY the movie, that will also be seen at other locations on a US tour. FIFTY the movie is the gripping and compelling story of how Malcolm Law set out to run 50 mountain marathons over 50 peaks in just 50 days, all around New Zealand, in order to raise an enormous amount of money for the Mental Health Foundation.
“FIFTY is a truly remarkable and inspiring film that proves how much the human body and the human spirit are capable of when powered by a deep & selfless purpose. Set against the stunning backdrop of wild New Zealand mountain landscapes, it makes for compelling, gripping viewing” – Sir Ranulph Fiennes, The World’s Greatest Living Explorer.
The film is every bit as unique and epic as the adventure it traces, but it’s also about so much more than just stunning mountain scenery and awesome trail running. It’s about the ‘power of purpose’ and what is possible when thousands of people get together behind one man to help achieve something truly and utterly remarkable.
The fourth annual US Trail Running Conference is held in partnership with the American Trail Running Association (ATRA), September 28 to October 1, 2016, at the historic Stanley Hotel, Estes Park, CO. The trail running film festival takes place on Friday September 30, starting at 6.45 pm, and is held at the Reel Mountain Theater in downtown Estes Park.
Malcolm Law, and his wife Sally, will be at the theater for the showing, and will be eager to answer questions on the movie from the audience. Malcolm adds: “”We are very honored and excited to be bringing our beautiful movie to the equally beautiful Estes Park, a place that we fell in love with when we visited for the first time last year. The opportunity to share our story and spend some time on beautiful Rocky Mountains trails with local and visiting runners is something we are really looking forward to”
Nancy Hobbs, founder and executive director of the American Trail Running Association, comments on the movie: “This personal story of goal-setting and achievement will resonate far and wide with runners and non-runners alike. New Zealand’s stunning and sweeping vistas, interspersed with a heartfelt and honest narrative, showcase what this film is about – great people doing amazing things. Join Mal’s journey, find inspiration, and celebrate being alive”
Terry Chiplin, Event Director, and owner of Active at Altitude, comments: “We are thrilled that the 2016 US Trail Running Conference will be the Colorado premiere of this incredible landmark adventure movie. We look forward to sharing FIFTY the movie with trail runners from around the US.”
